Luciana Paluzzi

Luciana Paluzzi is one of the many brunettes who were made into international stars as a result of the Gina Lollobrigida scandal. In the 1950s, Ms. Paluzzi worked on both sides of the Atlantic in films like Three Coins in the Fountain and Sea Fury. She was later offered the opportunity to be an American TV star in the leading role of Simone Genet in the 1959 weekly spy show Five Fingers. In 1965, she was contacted by the Bond producers in order to audition for Domino Derval, the leading girl in Thunderball. While that role eventually went to the former Miss France, Claudine Auger who was the director, Terence Young offered her the part of the villain in Fiona Volpe - one of only a handful of women on this planet who is able to withstand the enticement of Mr. Fiona which, as a form of punishment and is then fatally injured on the floor of the club by Bond's companions. James, who then puts her body to rest on a table in the dining room is asked "Does it bother you that I take this role out?" This isn't her fault. Luciana Paluzzi's fame as a European actress was boosted by this blockbuster at the box office. She starred in films that included Captain Nemo and the Underwater City, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Klansman and The Greek Tycoon. Luciana Luciana Luciana
