Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's kids - was born at Woodland Hills, California in 1956. She was raised by her mother, who was a housewife and a father who worked as a teacher. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her brothers older than her. McCormick was a gifted artist and singer from a young age. She perform shows using puppets for the neighbors. In the year she turned 6, McCormick won at the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her and asked whether she was interested in a career in showbusiness. McCormick got her first big role when she got a part in the commercial for television that was broadcast in 1964 of Mattels newest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. The following year she starred in the role of Chatty Cathy in a commercial before being cast in Wind It Up And It's Breaks by the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick, chosen from more than 1200 auditioning children to play the older of three two-headed daughters, in The Brady Bunch (1969), starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The series lasted 5 years. McCormick in her memoir Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice Published in 2008 McCormick told of how in the fifth season of the show she almost lost their virginity to brother Barry Williams. He was 19 years old. She was just 16. The incident would have happened, she says. But, the time of our romance wasn't right.
