Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother as was Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox received a scholarship to study at London's Royal Academy of Music for 3 years. Lennox was able to survive on a student's stipend as well as working part-time to supplement her earnings. Lennox was of the opinion that her talents were inferior to those of those of her Royal Academy classmates. So she began thinking about other paths she could take. Lennox played flute in a band named Dragons Playground in 1976. She left the band when the band was featured to I.T.V.s talent contest New Faces. She was the singer for The Tourists a British pop band from 1977 to 1980. It was here that she met Dave Stewart and together they created The duo Eurythmics. Lennox started working for Diva in 1992, her debut album as a solo artist. The album garnered a lot of praise both from critics and the public. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album came out in the month of October, 2014. The C.D. Lennox chose her favorite soul jazz blues tracks from early childhood. Lepidoptera features four keyboard tracks. This E.P. is an accompanying piece to her art installation in the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art titled"Now I'll Let You Go... It is also her debut independently-released album.
