Ricci is the child with the smallest number of siblings of Ralph Ricci and Sarah Murdoch. She was born in Santa Monica, California. in the early 1960s, her mother was employed as an Ford Agency Model. She later became an agent of real estate. The father of her was an attorney, the drug counselor, natural scream therapist as well as a gym teacher. Ricci claimed she was Italian because of her father's name. There were two Italians who married an Irishwoman four or five generations earlier. They had their entire sons. Children were born as more Irish wives married. The family of Ricci moved from Italy and relocated to Montclair, New Jersey. In Montclair, she was a student at Edgemont Elementary School and Glenfield Middle School, Montclair High School, Montclair High School, Morristown-Beard School, and Montclair High School.
